Moroccan Hicham Kichouhi disappeared while attempting to cross the Turkish-Bulgarian border on November 8, 2025. He was travelling with someone else and in poor health, when the other person abandoned him, stealing his mobile phone. This made it difficult to contact him or determine his whereabouts.

The family has provided two different locations regarding their last known contact with him. In light of this alarming situation, the family has contacted both the Red Cross and the Bulgarian Embassy in Morocco, but unfortunately received no response.
