Ahmad Jawid Sharifi

Ahmad Jawid Sharifi, 20

Ahmad comes from the distant province of Faryab in Afghanistan. He was 18 years old when he crossed the Turkish-Bulgarian border on his journey to Europe.

He has been missing since September 21, 2022, near Burgas, Bulgaria, although the precise location remains unknown. His brother, Marwan, told us that at one point Ahmad was not feeling well, and his travel companions sent Marwan photos from that moment.

When he went missing, Ahmad was wearing a blue outfit with a star-shaped stamp on his jacket. His family reached out to several Bulgarian organizations, which coordinated with the Afghan ambassador in Sofia. As of now, there is no evidence of Ahmad’s presence in Bulgaria.
