Abdulrahman Batash
Abdulrahman Batash, 35
Abdulrahman began his journey in the last days of August 2023. He left with some friends, trying to cross the border. At some point, he felt unable to continue, possibly due to deep fatigue, and the group he was traveling with abandoned him to continue on their journey without him. The last phone contact with his family occurred at 7 a.m. on August 24, 2023, when he was asking for help.
On August 29, a team from Collettivo Rotte Balcaniche went to the coordinates provided by CRG (Consolidated Rescue Group), but they only found a phone and a bag that belonged to him.
The family traveled to Bulgaria and searched for him for three days: at the border police, in hospitals, and even in morgues, but unfortunately, they found no evidence of his presence. They also contacted lawyers in Bulgaria and Turkey to assist in the search, but so far, all efforts have been in vain.
At the time of his disappearance, Abdulrahman was 35 years old. He was married and was seeking a quiet place to live with dignity, like many others. He was wearing a black shirt, black trousers, and a white undershirt. A distinctive feature: he is missing the index finger on his right hand.
